Chinas Pesticide Saw Big Losses in H1 2015

The data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in the first half of 2015, the national agrochemical industrys main business revenue was RMB154.783 billion, up 7.2% year on year; the total profit was RMB10.787 billion, up 5.7% year on year. The total profit of chemical pesticides grew 4.0% year on year, while that of biochemical and microbial pesticides grew 24% year on year, a growth much bigger than that of chemical pesticides.
Economic indicators of the agrochemical industry in the first half of 2015
In the first half of 2015, despite strong growth in overall profit, the number of loss-making enterprises grew 11.3% year on year, with an amount of loss of RMB588 million, a big year-on-year increase of 145.6%; and the percentage of loss-making enterprises increased by 1.1 percentage point year on year. The number of loss-making enterprises, the amount of loss and the percentage of loss-making enterprises of chemical technical manufacturing enterprises all increased significantly year on year, while those of biochemical and microbial pesticide manufacturing enterprises all decreased relatively.
